Face masks are one of the biggest trends in beauty right now. Korean beauty products and tips have finally made their way to us, and while we get to enjoy and the fun, crazy Korean trends our skin gets to benefit from them. Sheet masks are not only fun to use, but they also help brighten our skin, make it look younger and nourish it when it’s a bit tired or dry. Most masks are pretty straightforward but some of them are just plain crazy, which just makes them more fun to try out for ourselves. We’ve compiled a list of the craziest face masks we could find online, which ones would you try and which ones are just too weird?
1. Nature Republic SNAIL Solution Mask Sheets
Yes, you read right, this mask contains snail slime. If you’re thinking, why the hell would I want to put snail slime all over my skin, you’re not alone. But snail slime is actually pretty big in Korea and is used in many Korean skincare products. The logic is that if snail slime protects snails and helps them slide around, it might help protect your skin as well. If you’re willing to go through with it and put snails on your face, the benefits could be scars healing faster, fewer marks and wrinkles and really hydrated skin.

2. Mizon Returning Starfish Bio Mask
This crazy face mask has actual starfish in it! Well, starfish are known for their ability to regrow body parts they’ve lost, so maybe they could lend some of their crazy magic to us? Not only is this mask filled with starfish extract, but it’s also shaped like a starfish so that you won’t forget for one moment what this mask is all about. They say this mask will you give you a glowy face, and smooth wrinkles around the eyes. So what do you say, would you put starfish on your face to get rid of wrinkles?

3. Beauty in a Food Mask Sheet, Propolis & Bee Venom
Bee venom does not sound like something we want to put on our face. First of all, bees are super scary, and we don’t know anyone who wants bees or their venom anywhere near their face. But bee venom, in small doses, could actually benefit your skin! The venom can make your skin think it’s been stung, even though it hasn’t, and then your body is going to produce more collagen, making your skin tighter and less wrinkly.

What is donkey milk you ask? Well, it’s pretty self-explanatory. But why not cow milk, you ask? Well, apparently donkey milk has a lot more protein and fatty acids, as well as a lot more Vitamin C than cow milk. Who knew! Donkey milk was actually used by no other then Queen Cleopatra, she used to bath in it to make her skin look younger.
If it was good enough for Cleopatra, you’ve got to give it a try!

5. Bird’s Nest Forever Young multi Care Hydrogel mask
What else will these Koreans come up with? How can Bird Nest possibly hydrate our skin? Well, it’s not just any bird’s nest, but the nest of a bird called swiftlet who builds its nest out of its own saliva. Their saliva has proteins and amino acids and it’s been known as a great way to get rid of signs of aging.

6. Placenta Revital Essential Mask
This one is definitely one of the more extreme ones, but we all know that placentas are good for you. Many women even eat their own Placenta after giving birth. The placenta
Is responsible for providing vitamins and nutrients to the baby while it’s still inside the womb. And all of these vitamins and nutrients are great for your skin. Placentas used for skin care usually come from sheep and pigs, which is kinda creepy, but the benefits are amazing, would you try it out?

Maybe this one doesn’t seem as weird as the others, but considering the fact, most of the use barely want to eat broccoli, why would we want to put it on our face? You might not be inclined to put them on your skin but they are supposed to help refresh and hydrate your skin, making it look more youthful. Now the real question is, which one would you rather put on your face, bee venom, snail or a Sea cucumber? When we put it like that Sea cucumbers don’t sound like such a terrible choice.

9. Holika Holika Pig-Collagen Jelly Gel Mask Sheet
Koreans claim that eating pig fat actually keeps your skin young and fresh, which is something we would have never guessed. But if you’re not invited to a barbecue anytime soon you could try this Pig-Collagen Jelly mask instead. The mask is supposed to be hydrating and firming and make you look younger, and it’s definitely not as bad as pig placenta.

10. Horse Oil Hydrogel Gold Mask
We know you thought this list couldn’t get any weirder, but then this mask came along. What is horse oil? You’re gonna regret asking, but we’re gonna tell you anyway
Horses are eaten in countries both in Europe and Asia and horse oil is created from the meat and fats of well, horses. Horse oil is supposed to be absorbed into the skin super easily and leaves it looking moisturized, fresh and light. But if you grew up loving horses, we totally get why you’d want to skip this mask.

11. Etude House I Need You Mask Sheet [Silk Cocoon Mask]
The use of silkworm cocoons in skin care products can be traced back to ancient China.
Women used to rub the Silkworm cocoons on their faces in order to exfoliate their skin.
The Silkworm cocoons are filled with proteins and this mask is going to give you a healthy, younger looking skin.

12. Pureness 100 Caviar Nutrition Mask Sheet
Not everyone eats Caviar, but those who do claim it’s amazing. So why not try and put it on your face? If you’re not on the know, Caviar is actually fish eggs, and fish eggs are actually full of things that are good for your skin. Caviar can hydrate your skin, tighten it and help reduce signs of age. Out of all the other masks we’ve seen Caviar doesn’t sound that bad, it actually sounds luxurious, especially next to horse oil, doesn’t it?

13. THE OOZOO Face Injection Illumination Mask
You read it right, this mask promises skin that would look so fabulous it would make people ask if had something done. Despite its name, which makes you think of botox and other chemicals, this mask only has natural ingredients. Some of the ingredients in this mask include Saccharomyces, Ectoine, and Beta-Glucan. All of these ingredients together will leave your skin looking brighter and tighter as if you got a skin injection.

14. Skin79 Animal Mask – Dry Monkey
Some masks are less about the after-effects and more about … the before effects. This mask promises a cute monkey face, but it’s very hard to tell where the monkey is exactly. But on the bright side, it has no crazy ingredients in it, and despite the name, no monkeys were harmed in the making of this mask.

15. Skin79 Fruit Mask – Watermelon Girl
This watermelon mask has watermelon extract which is known to help soothe and moisturizes red and tired skin. The kicker is, when you wear the mask, you look like a watermelon. Yes, you heard us right. Why would anyone want to look like a watermelon? We’re not sure ourselves, but honestly, that watermelon extract on our skin sounds so sweet and relaxing we’re willing to let that one go.

16. Tony Moly Earth Beauty Kelp Mask Sheet
This kelp mask contains 90.37% kelp. Kelp might not sound like something you would want to put on your face, but it’s actually rich in nutrients. Kelp helps with skin moisture and elasticity. The downside is that it smells just like the ocean, but not like the sandy hot beach, more like deep down the ocean where fish and sharks do their business. Would you be willing to put up with the smell to get the benefits?

17. A’Pieu: Chi Ka Po Ka Tooth Brushing Mask
Don’t worry, it’s not a sheet mask for your teeth (though we’re not gonna be surprised if something like that already exists), but just a sheet mask that allows you to brush your teeth and even laugh or smile while wearing it.
